With school starting back up soon, we asked our School Resource Officers (SROs) what their first day of school walk-up song would be. We may have made a few creative adjustments along the way.

Now, it’s your turn! As you head into a new school year, what would your first day of school walk-up song be? We would love to see it listed in the comments!

And, students, the next time you see your SRO, be sure to let them know what song you’d choose!

The City of Wentzville is adopting a proactive maintenance strategy to protect our pavement network! Over the next three years, our goal is to complete crack sealing on all 400 lane miles of concrete streets in the City. Learn more about how this preservation method works below!

Prevents Water Intrusion: Water is the primary cause of road deterioration. Sealing cracks keeps moisture from seeping under the concrete, which softens the sub-base and causes potholes.

Keeps Debris Out: It prevents rocks and sand from getting packed into concrete joints, allowing the street to naturally expand and contract without further cracking.

Cost Effective: This is one of the most cost effective maintenance strategies available. It stops minor cracks from turning into severe damage that requires expensive, full-depth slab replacement.

Minimal Disruptions: We use a hot-applied, rubberized sealant that cools and cures quickly, meaning roads reopen fast for local drivers and residents.

By maintaining the entire network now rather than reacting to failures later, we are extending the useful life of our streets at a fraction of the cost of major repairs! Crack sealing is just one of the many ways Wentzville preserves, maintains and updates transportation infrastructure.
