Boards & Commissions
Wentzville’s advisory boards, commissions, and committees are composed of dedicated community volunteers who generously contribute their time without compensation. These groups typically provide recommendations to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen on matters related to municipal government, City departments and the community.
Arts and Programs Committee engages the community of Wentzville in an appreciation for art in its various forms.
Board of Adjustment Committee hold hearings and make decisions concerning request for variances from the Zoning Ordinance.
Board of Appeals meets when an application is submitted in order to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretation of the adopted Building Code.
Downtown Committee transforming the Wentzville Downtown District into a community destination point while striving to protect, enhance, and revitalize the City’s historical heritage.
Wentzville Economic Development Council Inc. is charged with the promotion and marketing of economic development expansion and growth for the City of Wentzville.
Parks and Recreation Board serves as a sounding board by holding public meetings and exercising influence throughout the City to improve and expand recreational opportunities.
Planning and Zoning Commission‘s duties are to oversee the development, update and adoption of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, and to make recommendations to the Board of Aldermen concerning the adoption of Zoning and Subdivision Regulations, individual Rezoning applications and much more.
Stormwater Advisory Committee helps develop and assess the City’s Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) for pollution prevention and regulatory compliance.
Tree Committee engages the community of Wentzville in protecting its parks and green spaces by inspiring them to plant, nurture and celebrate trees.
