How Do I Retrieve Evidence or Property?

Property or evidence cannot be released to you until you have been contacted via letter buy the Evidence officer, another police employee notifies you by phone that it is available or you have appeared in court and the court has ordered the property to be released to you.  At this point,  you should call the evidence officer at (636) 639-2131 to make an appointment to pick up your property.

On the date of your appointment, go the the lobby at the Wentzville Police Department located at 1019 Schroeder Creek Blvd., and ask to speak with the Evidence Officer.

The following information will be needed when requesting your property:

  • Case number
  • Letter that was sent to you from the Department or the name of the person that contacted you by phone
  • A document from the Court authorizing the release of your property (if property is part of a criminal case)
  • Picture identification card with signature
  • Proof of ownership for the property (if required)
