Meet Gary Wagster, our Parks Construction Foreman!
His job involves supervising all of the current and future projects happening in Wentzville Parks and making sure that the crew has the supplies and support that they need to complete each one! The people he works with are a big reason why he loves what he does.
“I’ve got a great group of guys. I couldn’t ask for anything better.”

Have you spotted the elegant swans gliding gracefully in front of the WREC and wondered–are they real or just really fancy lawn decor? 🦢
Here’s the reveal: they’re not real, but they’re working hard! These fake swans help keep pesky geese away from the pond by playing on their natural fear of swans. Thanks to this clever wildlife wisdom, our sidewalks stay cleaner and more enjoyable for everyone. This is a great example of how sometimes, a little knowledge of nature goes a long way in making our parks welcoming and fun for all!

Our latest art show is now on display at the WREC! The theme "Get Outside" invites us to celebrate the beauty, challenges and transformative power of the outdoors. Next time you visit, stop for a moment to admire the interpretations of this theme illustrated in landscapes, abstract depictions of natural elements, outdoor adventures, environmental concerns or the emotional impact of being in open space.
Our next show`s theme is "Fantasy." We invite local artists to submit their work for consideration by visiting www.wentzvillemo.gov/ArtDisplay.
