Wentzville's Aquatics Supervisor Danny Seelye was recently named the recipient of the Outstanding New Professional Award – Aquatics by the Missouri Park and Recreation Association (MPRA). This award recognizes emerging professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership impact early in their careers.

Danny began his full-time aquatics career during the summer season and quickly rose to the challenge. He focused on building strong staff relationships and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture.

He also played a key role in opening the WREC’s indoor pools, helping develop operations and programming from the ground up, including hiring and leading the department’s largest group of lifeguards. Danny also helped develop a Learn to Swim program that has become a valued community offering.

In just three years, Danny has navigated many high-pressure situations while demonstrating professionalism, problem-solving skills and compassionate leadership.

Congratulations, Danny!
Is your swimmer ready to level up? Spring Swim Clinics are starting soon at the WREC. These clinics for ages 7-15 focus on a different skill each session and are perfect for competitive swimmers looking to improve their technique.🏊
