Exciting news for Heartland Park! Wentzville Parks and Recreation has received $200,000 in grant funding to to begin Phase II of the Heartland Park Trail project with the construction of a 0.2 mile extension of the Southside Trail at Heartland Park. Once completed, the extension will connect the existing 1.5-mile trail to the sidewalk along Schroeder Creek Boulevard, creating a nearly 2-mile continuous loop for walking, biking and rollerblading.
The project will also include a new fishing dock, additional parking and improved lake access, helping make Heartland Park even more accessible and enjoyable for residents and visitors of all abilities. This investment continues Wentzville’s commitment to building connected, inclusive spaces that support recreation, wellness and community engagement. Construction is expected to begin in fall/winter 2026.
