Education

School District

Wentzville is primarily served by the Wentzville R-IV School District.  The School District is located in Saint Charles County, one of the fastest growing counties in the nation and the fastest growing area in Missouri . The Wentzville School District is geographically located in the western part of the county or 40 miles west of downtown St. Louis.

The District is home to corporate offices and industries such as General Motors (sole producer of GM’s full-size van and maker of the Canyon and Colorado pick-up trucks), MasterCard Worldwide, and CenturyLink Telephone Mid-West Operations. The District serves an 89-square mile area including all or part of Dardenne Prairie, Foristell, Lake Saint Louis, O’Fallon and Wentzville.

Higher Education

In the City of Wentzville there are numerous opportunities for higher education. Wentzville is home to Midwest University and Urshan College. Additionally, Lindenwood University and Ranken Technical College host a satellite facility within the city.

In the Wentzville region there are several public and private institutions including the University of Missouri-St Louis, Webster University, St Louis University, Fontbonne University, Washington University, Maryville University, Logan College of Chiropractic, St. Louis Christian College, and the St Louis College of Pharmacy. Within 1 ½ hours of Wentzville is the University of Missouri – Columbia, Stephens College, Columbia College, Westminster College, William Woods College and Hannibal-LaGrange College.  The Lewis and Clark Vo-Tech and Pike-Lincoln Technical Center are also in close proximity.

Community Colleges

St. Charles Community College is a public, two-year college offering more than 60 degree and certificate program pathways in the arts and sciences as well as occupational/technical fields. Tuition is the most affordable in the area, and the college has an open admissions policy to provide access to all persons who can benefit from educational programs and services. The 135-acre, seven-building campus on Mid Rivers Mall Drive recently expanded to include the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building with a 400-seat theater, the Continuing Education/Academic Center, and the Child Development Center.

Community-based classes, workshops, and seminars are available through an active continuing education program that develops partnerships with schools, businesses, agencies, and institutions. The college’s Business & Industry Institute meets the training needs of many companies in the area, and hundreds of classes and outreach programs are offered through the community services office. The college’s expanding services reflect its mission to remain responsive to the ever-changing needs of a growing community.
