Trash travels fast, but with your help, we can ensure it ends up where it belongs! As we transition from winter into spring, litter tends to accumulate, and business-hired landscape crews are not actively mowing and maintaining.
During this time of year, high winds scatter litter, which becomes more noticeable due to the wintering vegetation. A property free of litter is good for the environment and our community!  

Here are a few tips to help keep your business’s property sparkling!

Conduct Routine Litter Checks
Walk the property once or twice a week to remove loose trash, including from adjacent rights-of-way areas, to reduce accumulated litter. This means you’ll be able to dedicate less time to this during future clean-ups!

Securely Close Dumpsters and Trash Carts
Keep dumpsters securely closed and promptly empty overflowing trash carts to help you manage runaway litter in high-wind weather! A secure solid-waste container also deters curious animals from further spreading trash.

Update Landscaping Contracts
Right before the mowing season starts, it’s a great time to review your business’s landscaping contract. Make sure mowers’ contracts include the collection of all loose trash and that they are not mowing over or mulching trash.
