Large-Item Pickup

Schedule a Pickup
Throughout the year, you can schedule a large-item pickup for large items such as furniture, carpet, mattresses, refrigerators, TVs, bicycles, drywall, boards (cut to 4' or shorter in length) or excessive amounts of trash. There is a charge for these large-item pickups and they must be scheduled a minimum of two business days in advance of the resident's sanitation pickup day. Some waste items need special attention or because of their size, cannot be placed out with regular trash. For a list of accepted items, click hereThe following items will not be accepted;  tires, batteries, waste oil, yard waste, concrete, bricks, railroad ties, hot tubs, wet paint, any liquids, items that are too heavy to be lifted by two people and car or engine parts. Basketball hoops, bicycles, fire pits and trash cans will not be accepted, unless the resident calls in at least two business days before their pickup day and clearly states that they want it picked up. Appliances, such as iceboxes, refrigerators, freezers, or other airtight or semi-airtight, container with a fastening device, must be emptied with the door's hinges, latches or other hardware removed.

To dispose of items that are not acceptable for Large-Item Pickup or regular collection service, please contact St. Charles County Recycle Works West  to inquired about disposal. St. Charles County Recycle Works West is located at 2110 E. Pitman Ave., Wentzville, MO 63385.

Free Large-Item Pickup
Wentzville offers free Large-Item Pickup twice each year. This is the perfect opportunity to free up some space in your garage or basement. The free events are held once each fall and spring. The free pickups are for Meridian Waste Residential customers only, who live within the City of Wentzville.

This year's Spring Pickup will be held during the week of April 26-30. Residents should place bulky items at the curb by 6 a.m. on your regular collection day. Please note: There is a FOUR-ITEM LIMIT per household, per free pickup. Houses that exceed this item limit may not have their large items collected.
