Year-Round Household Chemical CollectionsBring hazardous items for safe disposal to Recycle Works West. Collection hours run Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with no appointment necessary. There is a $25 fee for loads under 50 pounds. Click here for items accepted and instructions.

April 10-11 Stream Team Training: Introductory Level Water Quality Monitoring Learn what's in Missouri's streams by testing them! Pre-register for a two-part virtual training at your convenience (a recorded option is also available to watch anytime after 3/19/21) and stream-side field training. Time: 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

April 27-28 St. Louis Earth Day Festival
Whether you are coming for the food, music, activities, or people watching, this community tradition will leave you a little more inspired about real progress made to preserve our planet, sustainable products and services offered by local organizations, as well as showcasing local entertainment and Green Dining Alliance restaurants. September 18 World Water Monitoring Day UPDATEHost your own monitoring event anytime from Mar. 22 to Dec. 31 and submit data online. Ideas include organizing a trash cleanup, going on a watershed walkabout, stream monitoring, or talking to your school or neighborhood about water pollution prevention. Ecology, water cycle, natural resources and human impacts on the environment can all be taught using this 3-D interactive watershed model! With city staff training, this model can be loaned for use at your school or event. Call the Stormwater Division at (636) 327-5102.
- Explore different land uses, their unique functions and values.
- Explore how stormwater runoff carries pollutants through the watershed to a lake, stream or river – and the best management practices to prevent this type of pollution from occurring.
- Demonstrate how restoring and constructing wetlands can improve natural resources and manage stormwater, reducing flooding and pollution.
St. Louis Regional Envirothon for High Schools
High-school students are invited to register as a team to participate in the St. Louis Regional Envirothon Competition, sponsored by the St. Charles Soil & Water Conservation District in partnership with the City of Wentzville and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Teams compete at the regional, state and international level and are eligible for scholarships.

Students and coaches receive hands-on trainings, STEM and field ecology experiences in state parks and conservation areas, access to career resources, and work directly with professionals to find solutions to address complex real-world resource management issues in these topics:
