Construction and Development
Plan Review:
Per Chapter 1 of the Engineering Design Criteria, all public or private sewerage, public water mains, drainage works or other public improvements proposed to be constructed, altered or reconstructed by any person or corporation, public or private, within the corporate limits of the City of Wentzville, requires review of the City. This includes any altering of any storm drainage channel, site drainage or flood plain within City limits. The Engineering Design Criteria along with the Standard Specifications and Construction Details have been made available below. These documents must be followed when developing plans for review.

Grading Permit:
Per Chapter 515 of the Municipal Code, a Grading Permit is required whenever grading activities result in the disturbance of land areas 20,000 square feet or more. If applicable, the entity seeking the permit will need to submit minimum required items contained within Chapter 1 of the Engineering Design Criteria for Plan Review. All resources for making a formal Grading Submittal including the permit application, submittal checklist and permit fee calculation spreadsheet have been made available below.
Residential Grading Permit Fee: $150 + 10 per lot
All Other Grading Permit Fee: $150 + $10 per acre
Construction Permit:
Per Chapters 405, 410, and 505 of the Municipal Code, a Construction Permit is required whenever public or private sewerage, public water mains, drainage works or other public improvements proposed to be constructed, altered or reconstructed by any person or corporation, public or private, within the corporate limits of the City of Wentzville. If applicable, the entity seeking the permit will need to submit minimum required items contained within Chapter 1 of the Engineering Design Criteria for Plan Review. All resources for making a formal Construction Submittal are provided below.
Construction Permit Fee: 2% of the estimated cost of public improvements less Plan Review Fee
Blasting Permit:
Per Chapter 510 of the Municipal Code, a Blasting Permit is required whenever an applicant is seeking to possess, store, stock, or hold explosives, or whenever an applicant seeks to use explosives. If applicable, the entity seeking the permit will need to hold a pre-blasting meeting with the Engineering Division to discuss the proposed blasting and minimum expectations. After which, an applicant is to submit the minimum required items contained within the Blasting Permit Application as provided below.
